Emergency Livelihood Recovery – Korail Fire Response

Following the devastating fire in Korail, thousands of families lost not only their homes but also their primary sources of income. Many women who depended on home-based tailoring lost their sewing machines, leaving them without a means to support their families.

In response to this humanitarian crisis, Youth Prochesta Foundation of Bangladesh, with the generous support of Azimur Rokia Rahman Trust, launched the Emergency Livelihood Recovery Initiative. Through this programme, 10 fire-affected families received sewing machines to help them restore their livelihoods and regain financial independence.

Rather than providing only emergency relief, this initiative focused on sustainable recovery. By replacing essential income-generating equipment, the programme empowered families to restart their small businesses, rebuild their confidence, and reduce long-term dependency on humanitarian assistance.

At Youth Prochesta Foundation of Bangladesh, we believe that disaster recovery is not complete until people are able to stand on their own again. This initiative demonstrates our commitment to supporting vulnerable communities beyond immediate relief by creating opportunities for dignity, resilience, and self-reliance.
