Helping today  Helping tommorow

Following the devastating fire in the Boubazar area of Karail Slum in 20 November 2025, thousands of residents faced an immediate humanitarian crisis. Many families lost their homes, belongings, and access to essential services. Among the most urgent concerns were injuries, emotional distress, health risks, and the safety of children, older people, and other vulnerable residents.
In response, Youth Prochesta Foundation mobilized its frontline volunteers to support emergency rescue and medical response activities. A team of 15 Prochesta volunteers worked to assist affected residents and coordinate essential support during the critical period. Through its emergency medical and first-aid services, the Foundation supported more than 300 people.
The support included initial health assessments, basic first aid, wound cleaning and dressing, assistance for minor burns and other injuries, and the provision of essential medicines. People requiring further medical attention were encouraged and supported to seek treatment at appropriate healthcare facilities. The team also recognized the importance of emotional well-being after such a traumatic incident and provided basic emotional support to distressed individuals.
Throughout the response, Prochesta Foundation emphasized the dignity, safety, and protection of affected people, particularly children and other vulnerable community members. Its interventions followed Child and Community Safeguarding principles to promote a safe and respectful humanitarian response.
The contribution of the 15 volunteers was essential in reaching affected residents and delivering timely assistance. This initiative reflects Prochesta Foundation’s commitment to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by supporting access to emergency healthcare and essential medical services for people affected by disasters.
