The fire in Karail Slum destroyed homes, household belongings, food reserves, clothing, and other essential items. Many affected families suddenly found themselves without the basic resources needed for everyday life. For households already facing financial difficulties, replacing these belongings was extremely challenging.

To support families during this emergency, Youth Prochesta Foundation organized a comprehensive relief distribution initiative. The Foundation provided essential relief items, including dry food rations, safe drinking water, clothing, blankets, and other daily necessities. Through this initiative, nearly 2,000 people affected by the Karail fire received relief assistance.

The response was made possible through the collective efforts of approximately 100 volunteers, members of the Board of Directors (BoD), and other organizational members. Volunteers played an important role in organizing relief materials, supporting distribution activities, assisting affected residents, and helping ensure that essential items reached people in need.

Members of the Board of Directors and other organizational representatives also contributed by mobilizing resources and supporting fundraising efforts. Their involvement helped strengthen the Foundation’s capacity to respond to the emergency. The combined commitment of volunteers, leadership, and supporters demonstrated how collective action can make humanitarian assistance possible during a crisis.

Prochesta Foundation emphasized the importance of need-based and fair distribution so that assistance could reach affected households without discrimination. The initiative aimed to address immediate survival needs while helping families manage the first stage of recovery.

This intervention contributes to SDG 1: No Poverty, by supporting families experiencing sudden economic hardship, and SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, through the provision of safe drinking water. It represents the Foundation’s commitment to humanitarian assistance, community solidarity, and early recovery.
