A Life Dedicated to Humanity, Compassion, and Selfless Service

Some people leave behind achievements. Others leave behind values that continue to inspire generations. Md. Robiul Islam (Limon) belonged to the second group. His kindness, humility, and unwavering commitment to humanity made him much more than a volunteer he became a source of hope for countless people whose lives he touched.

Born on 22 December 1995 in Narail, Bangladesh, Robiul completed his degree in Textile Engineering from Southeast University. He later worked as a Textile Engineer at NORP Knit (Pearl Global) in Gazipur. Despite the demands of his professional career, he always found time to serve humanity, believing that true success is measured not by personal achievements, but by the positive impact one leaves on the lives of others.

From 2016 until his final day in 2024, Robiul served as a dedicated volunteer of Youth Prochesta Foundation of Bangladesh. Throughout those years, he became known for his sincerity, humility, discipline, and willingness to help wherever help was needed. Whether it was a disaster response, an educational initiative, or a community event, he never hesitated to step forward.

His humanitarian journey began in 2016, when he joined Prochesta’s emergency relief team responding to the devastating floods in northern Bangladesh. He travelled to remote flood-affected communities, delivering food, emergency supplies, and hope to families struggling to rebuild their lives.

In 2017, he participated in Prochesta’s humanitarian Eid programme in Sohagpur, Sherpur, where he helped distribute sarees and Eid gifts to the heroic Birangona mothers of the Liberation War. He believed that honouring those who sacrificed for the nation was not only a responsibility but also a privilege.

During Prochesta Eid Festival 2018, Robiul played a key role in organizing celebrations for underprivileged children and families, ensuring that the joy of Eid reached those who would otherwise have been forgotten.

When severe floods once again struck northern Bangladesh in 2019, he immediately joined the relief operation without hesitation, returning to disaster-affected communities to distribute emergency assistance and stand beside people during one of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Beyond emergency response, Robiul was deeply committed to education. For three consecutive years, he voluntarily taught children at Prochesta School, providing free education to underprivileged students. To him, teaching was more than sharing knowledge, it was about building confidence, nurturing dreams, and creating opportunities for children to build a better future.

Those who worked with Robiul remember him not only for his dedication but also for his character. He was gentle, respectful, dependable, and always ready to support others with a warm smile. He never sought recognition for his work; his greatest satisfaction came from seeing others smile because of a small act of kindness.

On 25 March 2016, Robiul married Sabrina Akter. Together they dreamed of building a loving family and a brighter future. In 2024, as they eagerly awaited the birth of their first child, tragedy struck.

On 5 August 2024, amid the unrest that followed the resignation and departure of the then Prime Minister, Robiul was caught in the chaos during a public celebration in Uttara. According to footage, he was mistakenly identified and, in the resulting disorder, became a victim of public anger. He later succumbed to his injuries and was martyred.

His death left an irreplaceable void in the Prochesta family and in the lives of everyone who knew him. At the time of his passing, he left behind his pregnant wife and countless dreams that would never be fulfilled. On 12 January 2025, his son, Sahal Ibne Robiul, was born a child who would grow up knowing his father through stories of courage, kindness, and selfless service.

Today, Robiul Islam’s legacy continues to live through every humanitarian initiative of Youth Prochesta Foundation of Bangladesh. Every relief package distributed, every child educated, every volunteer inspired, and every life touched carries a part of the values he stood for.

His life reminds us that the greatest legacy a person can leave is not wealth or status, but compassion, integrity, and a lasting commitment to serving humanity.

Though Robiul Islam (Limon) is no longer with us, his spirit continues to guide our mission. His service remains our inspiration, his sacrifice our responsibility, and his memory will forever be a cherished part of the history of Youth Prochesta Foundation of Bangladesh.
